Octo-crab.

Wow, it's been quite a while since I last made a blog post ! That's probably not a good thing. I've just been so busy lately ! We had about 5 tests and assignments, all squished into three days last week, but I prefer not to bore you with my school life but rather with something much more eventful that happened this morning !

Well, my dad went out this morning in the kayak to check the crab pots. Basically, the last few days we have been putting "pots" with rotten red emperor carcasses into the ocean, in hope of catching some crabs ! We have actually been really lucky and caught 3 "keeper" crabs in 6 days ! You are only allowed to eat the male crabs and can only keep them if they are within legal guidelines ! But they taste amazing and if you are a seafood lover like me, I would definitely recommend it !

Back to the story, my dad brought back a crab pot and guess what was in it !?! Clue: "It has eight legs." Yes, that's right it was a huge octopus and what was also amazing was that it had eaten the female crab that was stuck in the pot with it ! All that was left of the crab was it's back shell and legs ! How crazy !? My dad had to get it out of the pot and I never knew how strong their suckers really were ! They also make a really loud popping noise as they release their suction ! This again is one of the many interesting sea creatures we have caught in the pots !

Another weekend, Another country fair

Yesterday, I went to, yet again, another country fair ! This time however, it was with my friends instead ! When my friend Nat and I got there, it was about 11am. It was packed ! We found our other friends we were meeting up with, and from there our day of adventure began ! We went on rides, looked at the petting zoo, went on some more rides, watched some of the entertainment, ate some food and enjoyed ourselves ! We ran into lots of our school friends, and it was great to see them on an out-of-school basis.

Community Carnival !

Today, my Mum, brother and I went to a Community Carnival, about 15 minutes away from where we live. We saw it in a flyer and decided it would be fun to visit ! All of us had never been there before, so it was quite an adventure ! When we arrived it was about 12pm and the place was absolutely packed. Of course that meant that parking was a real pain, but we don't need to talk about that. We walked around and looked at the stalls. There was face-painting, craft stalls, clothing stalls and of course, food stalls ! There was also a huge jumping castle and the tea-cup ride. There was lots of entertainment; singing and such, but all in all it was pretty good !! We were there for about an hour and a half, and all of us enjoyed it !

Happy Birthday Dad !

Today was my Dad's birthday, and it was also a student free day ! Score ! It was a pretty good day. Unfortunately, I was doing homework for half of it though, but I did get to spend time with my dad which was nice. We didn't go out anywhere fancy, but instead we stayed at home and relaxed. We watched some movies and my brother and I went in the pool, while dad watched. It was fun !

The day went so quick, but I really enjoyed it ! I just wish that the teachers wouldn't load us up with so much homework, then I could've spent more time with my dad ! But anyway, I think he enjoyed it and mum even cooked his favourite dinner... Chicken Karaage ! It is amazingly delicious ! It is basically chicken, soaked in a marinade of soy sauce and garlic, and then fried ! It was so nice, seeing as we hadn't eaten it for... ages !

A lucky visit

Today, I actually had quite a good day ! It all started this morning ! I woke up at 5.20am, to practice my english speech which I was going to/ and did present today ! After an hour and a bit, of rehearsing, I went inside for breakfast at 7. I was setting the table, and then the most unbelievable thing happened.

There was a huge splash right on the water’s edge... I wasn't quite sure if it was what I thought it was but then, another splash and I was certain it was a dolphin ! I raced outside, and Mum and my brother came running too. We got the camera and I got some photos ! There wasn't one dolphin, or two, but three ! I was so excited to see the dolphins again, since I had only seen them once this year ! For some reason, I took the visit from the dolphins as a sign of luck, telling me that I should definitely do my english speech today and as I already kinda said, I did !

So, that's all the adventure for today ! But, just with the english speech, I thought I should tell you that I think it went well, and I was pleased at least. My class is amazing, most of the people are some of the smartest yet, nicest people. When I stood up to present, everyone in the class was clapping and there was a huge round of applause and cheering. I felt so encouraged by all of them, and it even boosted my confidence. I couldn't be in a better class with better people. There are the occasional annoying ones.

Oh, by the way, did I mention that I received an Academic Awards letter ! Apparently, they had sent it to another address, so the lady in the office printed one out, and put it in a nice envelope for me ! I don't know what my award's for, but I'm happy to be receiving one ! Yay !

Even the smallest things...

Well, today I was feeling a little glum. My school has this night called, "Academic Awards Night" and this is a night where the best and most deserving students receive awards for their achievements, this year ! A few of my very close friends had received letters from the school, informing them that they had received an award ! I was extremely happy for them ! However, I was a little disappointed in myself for not receiving one. After a pretty good day, I came home and asked mum about the mail. She said nothing from the school had come, but a letter from my Aunty had arrived !

I ran inside and opened it up, straight away. My Aunty is currently holidaying in Paris with her best friend and my cousin is also in Europe, (Paris as well), holidaying, with her best friend. My brother also received one, but his was a painting postcard, whereas mine was a photograph postcard. They were beautiful !
 

 I read mine and it brought a smile to my face. Sometimes, even the smallest things make me smile, yeah...corny, I know, but it's true ! It completely lifted my mood, and what else could I do, but go get the camera, and get some photos. I really love my postcard ! The Eiffel tower is so simplistic, but the way the lights shine and the black and white; it's so artistic. Thank you so much !

So, this is the blog world !?

Well, this is my first ever post on blogspot !

I've been working on this blog for about 2 hours now and I'm still not happy with these template settings, so bare with me for a bit, because it will get better... It's nothing special yet, but it will be soon !

I have never really blogged before, or at least successfully before, because I did start a blog last year with a couple of friends, but we just completely forgot about it, so that was a fail attempt. I will however do my best to keep this blog up-to-date with re-tellings of my highly "adventurous" life, whenever possible.

This blog will display my daily life, including my food, because if you know me, you would know that food is a huge part of my life. My photography and photographs that I take, if I am satisfied with my shots, and other daily inspirational or interesting things that I wish to share with you. Also, I have made it a personal goal of mine to always keep my blog positive and not talk about negative or upsetting things in my life. I always try to see the glass as half-full not half-empty. I thought that it would be nice to make my blog positive, just in case I have a bad day, because at least I can come home and blog about happy things, and not drear over unpleasant things.

So, that's my first ever post over and done with. That wasn't too difficult, so this shouldn't be too hard.
